Jay Anthony Willis is an Edmonton, Alberta raised  award winning singer-songwriter (SOCAN New Songwriter), whose work embodies a blend of latin-jazz, folk and blues. His first album, titled “Jay Anthony Willis” was officially released at Edmonton’s famous jazz venue, The Yardbird Suite in April 2009 .

Aside from being a performing songwriter Jay has also:  lived or worked (and written songs!) in every province and northern region of Canada; helped street kids as a crisis counsellor; taught English ; drove a city bus; worked at every kind of labourer's job under the sun;  did some acting in Shakespearian amateur theatre;  worked as a lab assistant in a mining camp up in the far North;  got a Bachelor of Arts degree; and, travelled the world as a Canadian Navy Lieutenant.

Probably the first thing you'll notice at one of his performances is that Jay is possessed of an amazing talent:  he has a commanding presence on stage,  and you just can't help getting caught up in his energy, his wacky sense of humour, and, most of all, his wonderful mastery of the art of song writing.  He also sings like a bird, tells a great story, and knows how to play some mighty tasty grooves on his classical guitar.
